THE MANY DEATHS OF SCOTT KOBLISH is a collection of comics
by the author, Scott Koblish, that feature him dying in a myriad of different
ways. There is no dialogue in these comics and the "stories" are all
told strictly through the pictures. Some of the deaths are realistic (such as
falling down a mountain while skiing) and others are mundane (such as the one
where he chokes to death while eating breakfast cereal). However, most of the
deaths are more elaborate, bizarre, and downright surreal. A lot of the deaths
are kind of morbid, but dripped in dark humor. Also, while most of the deaths
are a page long, some of them run for several pages (such as when he's abducted
by aliens or when he's stalked by his daughter's teddy bear). There's also a
recurring demise that shows up several times, but in different versions. Overall,
I enjoyed THE MANY DEATHS OF SCOTT KOBLISH. It's not a book everyone will like,
but I enjoyed the dark humor of Scott's many deaths.
