Children's Book Review: SAIL AWAY DRAGON
Girl and Dragon are best friends. They are so close that
they even share the very same dream of sailing away to the "Far-est Far
Away." So, Dragon comes to Girl and he becomes the SAIL AWAY DRAGON and
her his crew and they sail through the oceans to reach the far-est far away,
traveling for a year and a day. They have many adventures and make several new
friends. SAIL AWAY DRAGON wasn't quite the story I was expecting it to be. It's
not a bad story, but it's not as funny or adventurous as I thought it was going
to be. Instead, the book is more like the same poetic dream that Girl and
Dragon share: light and breezy.
Children's Book Review: TREES by Lemniscates
The narrator of TREES is a blackbird. The bird illustrates
the good things that trees do. The book
also describes some of the places live and how trees communicate.
Children's Book Review: BUSTER AND THE BABY!

to hide before Baby finds him. Each day they play this game of hide and seek
and other games as well. But when the evening comes, the tables turn ever so
slightly as Buster sneaks up on Baby. What a pair are BUSTER AND THE BABY!
Children's Book Review: WAKE UP!
WAKE UP! is the 4th book collaboration between
poet Helen Frost and photographer Rick Lieder. The focus in this book is new
life. The poetry is simple and the photographs that accompany them are so
vivid. The book ends with details more about the animals in each of the photographs.
WAKE UP! is a good book to read to celebrate spring and new life.
Children's Book Review: WE FOUND A HAT
WE FOUND A HAT is a tale of two turtles who find a hat in
the desert. The hat looks good on both of them and they both want it. However,
since there is only one hat, one turtle tells the other they must let it be.
However, the other turtle can't forget it. He plans on sneaking back to the hat
and taking it for his own when the other turtle is asleep. An unique tale about
desiring something you can't have and the power of dreams.
